Information We Collect

When you use StreamSquad, we collect the following types of information:

• Account information — email address used to create and manage your account
• Profile information — display name, username handle, and optional profile photo
• User content — watchlist items, ratings, reviews, and episode progress you add
• Social data — friend connections, squad memberships, and activity visible to friends
• Push notification token — device token used to deliver episode and squad notifications
• Device information — operating system, device type, IP address, and usage analytics

StreamSquad does not collect your precise physical location.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate your account and provide app functionality
• To sync your watchlist, ratings, and social data across devices
• To send push notifications for new episodes, season premieres, and squad activity
• To display your activity and ratings to friends you have connected with
• To monitor app performance and fix crashes via analytics tools
• To contact you about important service updates

Third-Party Services

StreamSquad uses the following third-party services which may collect information as described in their own privacy policies:

• Google Play Services
• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions)
• Firebase Analytics
• Firebase Crashlytics
• Expo (Push Notifications)
• The Movie Database (TMDB) — content metadata, accessed server-side only
• Watchmode — streaming availability data, accessed server-side only

TMDB and Watchmode are accessed only through server-side Cloud Functions. Your personal data is never sent to these services.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With friends and squad members you have connected with, as part of the app's social features
• With third-party service providers listed above, solely to operate the app
• When required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request
• To protect the rights, safety, or security of users or the public

Account Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the app:

• Open StreamSquad and tap your profile icon
• Go to Edit Profile → scroll to the bottom
• Tap Delete Account and confirm

This permanently removes your account, watchlist, ratings, reviews, profile photo, friend connections, and all squad memberships from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personally identifiable information is permanently removed from our systems within a reasonable timeframe. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained.

Children's Privacy

StreamSquad is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Security

All data transmitted between StreamSquad and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. We use Firebase's security infrastructure to protect your data at rest. While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your profile information and manage notification preferences within the app. To request a copy of your data or for any other privacy-related request, contact us at the address below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of StreamSquad after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
